The Dark Spire is a Japanese RPG aimed to mimic Western RPGs, albeit with contemporary enhancements in the areas of visuals and music. Any time during the game, the player can switch between classic and contemporary music and graphics, with most of the tracks from this album being in contemporary style, although there are some classical 8-bit version tracks, most of which have a bit of a rock opera feel, given the mixture of vocals with rocky instruments. This soundtrack is definitely worth a listen.
